About All Creatures Great and Small

James Alfred Wight's series of books that were written under the pen name James Herriot, are based on his experiences as a veterinary surgeon in England from 1940 to 1992. This series based on the novels chronicles the heartwarming and humorous adventures of James, a young country vet who lives and works in Yorkshire in the late 1930s. The show revolves around a trio of veterinary surgeons, including Siegfried Farnon, who hires James into his veterinary practice at Skeldale House. Besides Siegfried and James, there is Siegfried's younger brother, Tristan, and Mrs. Hall, their housekeeper.

The series begins in 1935, when Louisa Durrell suddenly announces that she and her four children will move from Bournemouth to the Greek island of Corfu. A battle ensues as the family adapts to life on the island which, despite a lack of electricity, proves that Corfu is cheap and an earthly paradise. This season sees the entire family start new chapters in their lives, and plenty of adventures, including the opening of a beauty salon, turning the family villa into an inn and of course, more animals.

Grantchester

A Cambridgeshire clergyman finds himself investigating a series of mysterious wrongdoings in his small village of Grantchester. (October 1, 2020) Filming for the sixth season of the hugely popular crime drama Grantchester has begun in the UK. The new season is expected to broadcast on PBS’ MASTERPIECE in 2021. With Robson Green returning as DI Geordie Keating and Tom Brittney as Grantchester’s Reverend Will Davenport, the series resumes in 1958 with the crime fighting duo renewing their partnership to solve new cases. In the first episode of the new series, Geordie, Cathy, Will, Leonard and Mrs. C take a much-needed holiday together. However, what sets out to be a fun-filled break for everyone at a holiday camp, is interrupted by a tragic death at the resort. Geordie and Will are left with no choice but to help out, as an investigation into the death begins. As events unfold on the trip, there will be serious repercussions for the rest of the series. Tessa Peake-Jones returns as Mrs. C, Al Weaver as Leonard Finch, Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating, Oliver Dimsdale as Daniel Marlowe and Nick Brimble as Jack Chapman. Special guest actors for this series include Jemma Redgrave, Gary Beadle, Dominic Mafham, Rachael Stirling and Miles Jupp. Kudos Executive Producer Emma Kingsman-Lloyd says: “In these difficult times we are delighted to be able to film another series of our beloved Grantchester.
