Country music star Luke Bryan, music icon Lionel Richie and singer-songwriter Katy Perry return as judges, with famed multimedia personality Bobby Bones acting as the show's in-house mentor. The fun begins with the audition rounds, in which hopefuls from across the country try to wow the judges, who select the most impressive talent from each city. As the competition advances, it's up to the viewers at home to vote for their favorite vocalists in hopes of helping them make it to the next round. In the end, one singer wins the grand prize and is crowned the next "American Idol."
