Hollywood A-listers express their deep gratitude to the individuals who have had a major impact on their lives by surprising them with big, heartwarming home renovations that bring everyone to tears. The star-studded, uplifting series, features everyone's favorite renovation brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott as they help each celebrity with a special renovation.

In each episode, two sets of neighbors redecorated one room in each other's home. Each two-person team had two (later, three) days, a budget of US$1,000, (later $2,000) and the services of a designer. Both teams in early seasons shared one carpenter, while later on, each team had a carpenter. Although the producers generally allowed the teams to go over budget slightly, there was one instance when a designer went $150 over budget and the producers forced her to return a rug she bought for the project.

TRADING SPACES was the first home makeover series of its kind and launched a generation of shows to follow in the television home design genre. Two sets of neighbor's trade rooms for two days and, with the help of a designer and carpenter, makeover a room with a budget of $2000.

HGTV star Ty Pennington (Rock the Block) and Alison Victoria (Windy City Rehab), joined by Food Network's Taniya Nayak (Restaurant Impossible), mentor three skilled teams of up-and-coming flippers in Battle on the Beach.

Each week, the teams will execute a renovation challenge with results that impress star judges Mike Holmes (Holmes + Holmes) and Mina Starsiak Hawk (Good Bones). Ultimately, the team who adds the most property value will win a $50,000 cash prize earmarked for the champion's next flip.

Tarek and Christina El Moussa lead dizzying professional lives. After finding success as real estate agents and then experiencing the drastic downside of the housing market, the Californians switched career gears: They now buy distressed properties -- foreclosures, short sales and bank-owned homes -- remodel them and sell them at a profit. At least, that's the way it's supposed to work. "Flip or Flop" tracks the El Moussas' roller-coaster journey in each episode, beginning with a cash purchase at auction of a home -- often sight unseen -- and the fix-it-up process, to the nail-biting wait to find a buyer.

Christina Haack and Tarek El Moussa were married real estate agents in Orange County, California. After the real estate crash in 2008, they began flipping homes in the Orange County area.

In 2011, Tarek asked a friend to help him make an audition tape for HGTV, filming an entire episode of the process of house flipping from start to finish. The audition tape was sent to HGTV and in 2012 the couple was signed to make Flip or Flop.

Christina's expertise is primarily in design, and she works with Tarek to find and renovate homes. She handles the designs of the new spaces and keeps the project on schedule. The show follows them as they buy homes, typically bank-owned, short sales or foreclosures, to renovate and resell

Scott brothers help families overhaul their hidden gems by unlocking each home's full potential. They seek out couples who are already settled and who want to completely remodel their homes to fit their families' needs, wishes and dreams. The brothers take the couples on a tour of newly renovated homes to find out what they love and the things that they can't live without. With all of this in mind, they use 3D graphics to bring each family's design dreams to life -- within budget of course.

"Come on down!"
