A newly sober single mom tries to pull her life together in Napa Valley while dealing with her wayward mother. Anna Faris and Emmy and Academy Award winner Allison Janney star in this funny and often heart-wrenching comedy from executive producer Chuck Lorre. After years of questionable choices, Christy is now sober and has her life mostly back on track, although she's continually tested by her mother, Bonnie. Together, mother and daughter work to overcome their mistakes and build a better future for their family. Both are in positions they never thought they'd be in: Christy is well on her way to becoming a lawyer, while Bonnie is in a healthy romantic relationship and has just gotten married. Through it all, they rely on their support system from AA, including the wise Marjorie, the wealthy and sometimes misguided Jill, the overly emotional Wendy, and Bonnie's foster sister, Tammy, who was recently released from prison. Collectively, they help each other stay sober in the face of whatever life throws at them. It has also garnered multiple nominations at the Critics' Choice Television Awards and the People's Choice Awards during its run. On September 4, 2020, Faris announced her exit from the series. CBS’ praised Mom — the network’s longest-running comedy series on the air — will end its run after the current eighth season. Mom's series finale has been set for May 6 in its Thursday 9 p.m. time period. “For the past eight years, we’ve had the great honor to bring these wonderful characters to life, sharing their struggles and triumphs with millions of viewers every week,” said executive producers Lorre, Gemma Baker and Nick Bakay. “From the beginning, we set out to tell stories about recovery from alcoholism and addiction that are rarely portrayed in a network comedy series. Whether it was the emotional reactions of the live audience on tape night inside Stage 20, or discussions at the White House regarding the opioid crisis, or the personal stories we continue to receive on social media, we take great pride in knowing Mom has positively impacted so many lives. We are forever grateful to our brilliant cast and guest stars, wonderful writers, and amazing crew for going on this journey with us.” - Deadline

ALONE is the most intense survival series on television. This season’s participants will face the biggest twist in series history—a 100-day challenge for 1 million dollars. The rules are simple, survive 100 days and win 1 million dollars. Over 6 seasons, no one has ever lasted this long. Achieving this goal will be a struggle, especially when the survivalists have to endure the intense conditions and aggressive predators of the Arctic. The HISTORY(R) Channel's popular nonfiction survival series "Alone" returns for season eight on Thursday, June 3 at 9:30PM ET/PT. This season, ten contestants fight to survive in the Canadian wilderness on the shores of Chilko Lake, British Columbia - a location with one of the densest grizzly bear populations on earth. Survivalists are dropped off in undisclosed, remote locations and equipped with just ten survival tools, and enough camera gear to self-document their experiences. The survivalist who endures the longest, facing total isolation, punishing weather, and deadly predators, will win the $500,000 grand prize. No camera crews. No gimmicks. "Alone" is the ultimate test of human will. "'Alone' has always been a hit series for The HISTORY Channel, but this past year it has particularly resonated with audiences now-more-than-ever as we've watched survivalists endure total isolation through their ingenuity and mental willpower," said Eli Lehrer, Executive Vice President and Head of Programming for The HISTORY Channel. "This new season will continue to authentically feature the grit of human endurance and challenge viewers to look at the outdoors - and their own backyards - a bit differently." Season eight of "Alone" sets the stakes higher than ever before in the most dangerous location yet. Survivalists must build their own shelters, forage their own food, and overcome numerous obstacles and dangerous predators in hopes of being the last person standing. Never before have contestants come into such frequent contact with the fierce and territorial grizzly bear, until now. "Alone" is produced for The HISTORY(R) Channel by Leftfield Pictures (an ITV America company). Shawn Witt, Gretchen Palek, Ryan Pender and Dan Bree serve as executive producers for Leftfield Pictures. Zachary Behr serves as executive producer for The HISTORY(R) Channel. A+E Networks holds worldwide distribution rights for both the series and the format for "Alone."
