A group of teenagers sheltered from the dangers of the post-apocalyptic world receive a message that inspires them to leave the safety of the only home they have ever known and embark on a cross-country journey to save their father. Set in Nebraska 10 years after the zombie apocalypse, the limited series is the third television series in "The Walking Dead" franchise, and focuses on the first generation to come of age in the apocalypse. The teens struggle with their roles in the outside world; some will become heroes and others villains, but all of them will be changed forever.

If you’re not familiar with the premise of the show, it’s about a virus that’s transported by rainfall and caused the near extinction of the human population. The series follows the story of 17-year-old Canadian high school outcast Josh Wheeler, who is searching for his missing British girlfriend Sam Dean in post-apocalyptic Glendale, California. He is joined by a ragtag group of misfits, including 10-year-old pyromaniac Angelica and Josh's former high school bully Wesley, who is now a pacifist would-be samurai. Josh tries to survive amongst the hordes of Mad Max-style gangs (evil jocks, cheerleaders turned Amazonian warriors), zombie-like creatures called Ghoulies, and everything else this brave new world throws at him.

Based on the comic book series by Robert Kirkman, the series follows survivors of a zombie apocalypse, trying to stay alive under near-constant threat of attacks from zombies, colloquially known as "walkers". However, with the fall of humanity, these survivors also face conflict from other living survivors who have formed groups and communities with their own sets of laws and morals, often leading to hostile conflict between the human communities.
