Disillusioned at the thought of taking down another "mark," depressed, low-level hit man Barry Berkman seeks a way out. When the Midwesterner reluctantly travels to Los Angeles to execute a hit on an actor who is bedding a mobster's wife, little does Barry know that the City of Angels may be his sanctuary.

Galifianakis stars in the dual lead role as Chip Baskets, a failed professional clown in Paris, who instead becomes a local rodeo clown in Bakersfield, California, and his twin brother, Dale Baskets. Galifianakis, C.K., M. Blair Breard, Dave Becky, Marc Gurvitz and Andrea Pett-Joseph serve as executive producers, with FX Productions as the production company.

Written by and featuring Phoebe Waller-Bridge, this comedy follows the lives of six characters in their 20s. A motley crew become housemates during a time where property prices and high-rent costs are difficult to afford. Using a Property Guardian scheme, the group is banded together in a disused hospital based in the city, for not much more than £25 a week. Each individual crashes into their adult life as they realise that they are no longer students, and need to take more responsibility. The group coasts through life, love and work in a big city as well as dealing with the quirks of living in a derelict hospital with strangers.
